The Catherine’s Walk - Aboriginal Blue Mountains Day Tour with Dingo Travel

All our tours start early for a reason – getting out of the city at around 7.00am we beat the traffic and are one of the first Day Tour companies to reach the mountains, which means everything is fresh and you will be one of the first to experience the UNESCO world heritage listed Blue Mountains on the day.

The Catherine’s Walk - Aboriginal Blue Mountains Day Tour unites you with the cultural roots of Australia’s first inhabitants and gives you a great experience of the local folklore, history and personalities to discover the magic of the ancient earth and people who thrived upon it.

  • We pick you up from your down town Sydney hotel and head west with your first stop being at a quaint traditional Blue Mountains cafe for morning tea. The locals love to go there for their delicious home-made scones, served with local cream & jam.
  • You continue your journey to Katoomba Waterfall where you meet your aboriginal guide with a traditional smoking ceremony. Taste, smell, feel and connect the Earth with the first of the people of the country. During this cultural awareness tour around the Jamison Valley, you will get to engage with and learn about the history of Australia’s Aboriginal culture, you will be introduced to some of the sounds and smells on native Australian wildlife and plants.
  • Your journey will include nine stops at Prince Henry cliff walk that showcase the stunning natural features of Katoomba View. You will also learn more about native bush foods and medicines as well as local mythology.
  • Next stop is Echo Point, home of the Three Sisters lookout, where you can further take in the wonderful views. A 5 mins walk takes you to the Waradah Aboriginal centre, where you will witness a show filled with traditional Aboriginal song, dance and a smoking ceremony.

  • If you haven’t already got an appetite, a leisurely walk through The Bush will give you one, where your tour guide will introduce you to the sights, sounds & smells of the native Flora & Fauna.
  • Your next adventure is a 90 mins visit to the renowned Featherdale Wildlife Park, a 45 mins journey that gives you time to reflect on the morning or, have a quite siesta! Featherdale is home to over 1,700 native animals, Australia’s largest collection. You will find the biggest colony of koalas in NSW, and can have your photo taken ‘up close and personnel’ with one. There many many ‘selfie’ opportunities with 3 open enclosures filled with kangaroos and wallabies, as well as dingos, echidnas, wombats, bilbies, Tasmanian devils, reptiles and a stunning collection of native birds.
  • Your day will finish with one last adventure – from Sydney Olympic Park a ferry journey up the Parramatta River into Sydney Harbour. Enjoy all the sites along the way, ending a fun-packed day in relaxing style. You can disembark at your choice of Darling Harbour or Circular Quay.
  • Tours ends around 5.00pm in Sydney with so many memories, lots of pictures to post and review when you get home, refreshing memories of the sublimely beautiful World Heritage Blue Mountains, one of the most spectacular parts of Australia.
